Nottingham Hoods and University of Nottingham (UoN) are proud to announce a landmark partnership, marking a significant step forward for both the club and the university’s men’s basketball programme.
This new collaboration will see enhanced coaching support for UoN teams, with Nottingham Hoods Head Coach Vladan Dragosavac leading the university’s first men’s team and club captain Elliot Bailey taking charge of the second team. The partnership aims to accelerate the development of UoN basketball within British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) competition, raising the university’s profile on a national stage.
“This partnership represents a huge step forward for basketball in Nottingham,” said Russell Levenston, Managing Director of the Nottingham Hoods. “Working closely with the University of Nottingham gives us the opportunity to support and develop student athletes at the highest level. With Vladan and Elliot leading the men’s coaching programmes, we are confident UoN will grow into a national force in BUCS, while also strengthening the pathway between university and professional basketball in the city.”
Max Masters, UoN Men’s Basketball Club President commented “My goal coming into the club’s leadership is to make the University of Nottingham one of the strongest basketball programs in the country. Our new partnership with the Nottingham Hoods is a major step forward in achieving this and I am incredibly excited to start working together”
Alex Perry, Assistant Director of Sport commented “We are very excited to be embarking on a new coaching partnership with Nottingham Hoods to help support the development of our student athletes and enhance the sport of basketball in Nottingham.”
The collaboration not only strengthens the university’s men’s basketball offer but also underlines the Hoods’ ongoing commitment to growing the sport at all levels. By bringing together elite coaching and top-class university talent, both organisations are laying the foundation for long-term success on and off the court.
