The Nottingham Hoods are delighted to announce the re-signing of Tom Johnston, a promising 19-year-old, 6’1” shooting guard/combo guard.

A Nottingham native, Johnston developed his game at Charnwood College in Loughborough, a well-regarded programme that has helped produce top British talent. He now continues his journey back home with the Hoods, representing both the British Basketball Championship squad and the NBL Division 2 side in the upcoming season.

Johnston gained valuable experience last year as part of the senior setup, featuring on the bench with the first team and learning from the high pressure environment. The club believes this exposure, coupled with his energy and versatility, will make him an important piece across both rosters this season.

Head Coach Vladan Dragosavac said:
“Tom is a young player we’re really excited about. He’s local, he understands the culture of this club, and he’s already shown he can compete at a high level. We’re looking forward to seeing him develop further and make an impact in both the BCB and Division 2 sides.”

On re-signing with his hometown club, Johnston added:
“I’m very excited to be re-signing this year we’ve got a promising group that we believe could make a real impact in the new league. I was around last year but injuries prevented me from playing so i’ve been working a lot in the off season and i’m really looking forward to come in and make a positive impact on the team.”

Fans can look forward to seeing Johnston on court in the hoods pre-season fixture against USA Select on the 6th of September. Get tickets now!
