The Nottingham Hoods are delighted to announce the signing of Tyrone Williams, an accomplished 6’5″ guard from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, ahead of the inaugural British Basketball Championship (BBC) season.
Williams brings an exciting blend of scoring, athleticism, and defensive intensity. After dominating the junior college ranks at Grayson County Community College—where he led the nation in scoring at nearly 28 points per game and earned NJCAA All-American honors—Williams went on to play NCAA Division I basketball at the University of Oregon and Old Dominion University.
In his senior year at ODU, he emerged as a key starter, averaging 13.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.1 assists per game, including standout performances such as a 36-point explosion against Texas State and a 33-point Senior Night performance versus Coastal Carolina.
“Tyrone is exactly the type of high-energy player we want to bring into this new era of British basketball,” said Vladan Dragosavac the Hoods’ head coach. “He can score at all three levels, defend multiple positions, and his competitive fire will quickly make him a fan favourite.”
With Williams on board, the Hoods strengthen their backcourt as they prepare for the challenge of the new BCB competition.
